Zurich wanted to empower their Enterprise Services Leadership team to innovate. They also had key areas for investigation, enhanced by the pandemic and its potential implications on ways of working. They wanted an opportunity to come together as a team, reflect on these key areas of business resiliency and sustainable operations, gain team alignment on innovation and find practical ways to take opportunities forward.
Ninety delivered an Innovation Bootcamp with the Enterprise Services Leadership team. Across three days, the team worked through developing problem statements for their business areas of focus, ideating around them, and assessing some through the lenses of desirability, feasibility and viability. Following the Bootcamp, Zurich continued to pursue developing one of these ideas using Ninety’s 123 Framework. Following this, a second Innovation Bootcamp was run for a taskforce deployed to developed this idea further. This rapidly enabled them to upskill on innovation tools, techniques and mindsets in order to decrease the risk of project failure.
Experiencing the Bootcamp and the skills they learnt, helped the team to come up with an idea that represented a strong business opportunity. The team came away feeling empowered in their ability to innovate and embed what they had learnt. The Bootcamp covered the innovation process from grasping the problem and ideating, exploring an idea from all commercial angles and deciding whether to pass, fail or pivot it. Putting the project taskforce onto the Bootcamp meant that they were rapidly upskilled and aligned on innovation. This approach increased the chance of success and enhanced the capabilities of the team.
Ninety’s Innovation Bootcamp enabled leaders from Zurich’s Group-wide Enterprise Services to rapidly develop opportunities in the business resiliency and sustainability areas. The Bootcamp provided them with the framework, tools, techniques and mindsets to develop ideas in an holistic way. This was followed up with a taskforce project team then being tooled up through the Bootcamp before being deployed to take the most promising idea through to delivery.
